Commander Randy Bresnik posted this video of his recent spacewalk after fastening a Go Pro camera on his helmet!
On last October 20th, two astronauts from the Expedition 53 crew that currently reside in the International Space Station performed a spacewalk. This space mission involving two astronauts was taking place outside the International Space Station. Lasting 6 hours and 49 minutes, this spacewalk was a great success! Commander Randy Bresnik was accompanied by Flight Engineer Joe Acaba of NASA. Together, they installed a new camera system on the Canadarm2 robotic arm and an HD camera on the starboard truss of the station, and also replaced a fuse on the Dextre robotic arm extension.
This was the fifth spacewalk of Randy Bresnik’s career and the third for Joe Acaba’s. Each astronaut spent, respectively, 32 hours and 19 hours 46 minutes total spacewalking. According to many astronauts that did spacewalks, the view of the Earth is spectacular!
According to Randy Bresnik, even during a spacewalk, “you just have to take a moment to enjoy the beauty of our planet Earth”.
